The Pedra Grande, in the city of Atibaia, countryside of São Paulo State is a must see if you ever happen to be in the Capital. Just less than 70 km from São Paulo, this 1450 meters high rock offers an amazing view to the valley and getting up there (not easy!) is so worth the effort.
Quick moving clouds almost on top of our heads were challenging regarding the exposure but I like how it really reflects the reality of the location. While it can be bright & sunny, it can also go dark & cloudy within a minute.
I was over the moon for Gabi & Felipe letting me choose the location for this shoot and we had such a great morning up there.
I'm again planning my next stay in Brazil (from November to January) and booking sessions. If you'd like to have you and your loved one documented by me, just drop me a line here.
Sometimes, being in an industry where said leaders try to dictate what is right and wrong can be quite suffocating. We find ourselves unsatisfied with the work we produce simply because it doesn't reflect who we are, how we feel and even more, what we believe to be important to tell. We always hear about finding your voice as a way for distinction, but are we all really after this?
As artists, the learning process is constant. But we have to switch off all the noise around us to be able to listen to our own voice. To do what you love and what moves your soul is not at all to do what everyone else is doing and considers to be pretty.
I created this set of images to challenge myself and this is now a new project for this year. To look only for connection and love. When we have these two ingredients, stunning locations and pretty props are the least necessary.
These images were shot in both Ilford 3200 & Kodak 400 TriX loaded on a Mamiya 645AFD. Developed and scanned by Carmencita Film Lab.
January is being a bit of hibernation month for me and even though I'm loving it, I can't wait for February (my month!!!) to be here. I got quite a few trips planned, a weekend winter getaway to celebrate my birthday, a full week of an amazing photography workshop in Barcelona and then I'm off to summery Brazil for a whole month.
